Recently, Leverkusen director Rolfes talked about Wirtz's performance after joining Liverpool, saying that the player's poor performance was related to the team's running-in situation.
Rolfes said: "Although Wirtz has outstanding personal abilities, his primary characteristic is that he is a team player. Wirtz can shine when working as a team, but the current Liverpool lineup has not been fully integrated, which makes it more difficult for Wirtz to perform."
Wirtz joined Liverpool with a transfer fee of 125 million euros this summer. The German midfielder has yet to score a goal or assist after 11 games in the Premier League.
