After announcing the dismissal of Vitor Pereira last Sunday, Wolves are looking for a new coach and Dutch coach Ten Hag is one of the candidates. According to the "Times" report, Ten Hag is hesitant to take over as coach due to Wolves' current poor situation at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

The report stated that after Vitor Pereira was sacked, Ten Hag was one of many coaches on the Wolves candidate list, although the club claimed that it had not yet had serious conversations with him.

According to sources from the Netherlands, the Wolves have made preliminary contact with Ten Hag through a third party, but given the current predicament of the Wolves, Ten Hag is unwilling to be considered.

Wolves are currently at the bottom of the Premier League standings, with only 2 points in the first 10 games, which also led to Pereira's dismissal. Pereira was involved in a confrontation with angry fans after a 3-2 loss to Burnley just over a week ago, and his last game was a 3-0 loss to Fulham on Saturday.

Ten Hag previously won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his two and a half years coaching Manchester United. He finally resigned in October 2024. In July this year, the Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen announced that he would be the new coach, but he was dismissed after only two league games in the new season. The top management of the pharmaceutical company was dissatisfied with the development direction Ten Hag led the club.

Rolfes, the sports director of Pharmaceutical Factory, said at the time: "No one wanted to take this step, but the past few weeks have shown that it is not feasible to build a new and successful team with this structure."

In addition to Ten Hag, the report also stated that Gary O'Neill was also unexpectedly regarded as one of the candidates for the Wolves' new coach - he coached the Wolves until December last year and was replaced by Pereira. He also withdrew from the competition on Monday. The current Middlesbrough coach Robert Edwards is considered to be the first choice for this position, but he is currently coaching well at Middlesbrough and the contract between the two parties will not end until 2028.
