Brazilian media globo reported that Villa is racing against time to buy West Ham midfielder Paqueta, but due to financial restrictions, he is unable to directly pay the transfer fee of about 50 million pounds. Vera is willing to accept offers close to the list price (50 million pounds), but cannot pay the amount directly.

The current options are rentals with mandatory buyout clauses, or a combination of "fixed fees + easy-to-reach bonuses". Although Villa didn't invest much in this window (only €37 million), they still faced the challenge of adapting to the Fiscal Fair Play Rules (FFP) and were fined by UEFA for violating regulations last month. Therefore, they need a creative investment plan.

Paqueta himself has sent a positive signal to the deal, but he has given the final decision to the club that has been supporting him for two years he has been plagued by allegations of gambling. Paqueta is expected to play for West Ham this Sunday, challenging Nottingham Forest away.

If negotiations progress, Paqueta will face the risk of postponing his registration to the national team, and he may need to have a medical examination and sign a contract on Monday. According to the plan, players should report to Ancelotti at the latest on Tuesday morning to prepare for the match against Chile and Bolivia.
