Official: Former Liverpool player Bobby Graham passed away, the club expressed deep condolences to his family

According to the official website of Liverpool, former Liverpool player Bobby Graham died at the age of 80.

Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the death of former player Bobby Graham, who was 80 years old. The Scots died Wednesday night as a striker under Bill Shankley.

Graham was born in Motherwell and joined Liverpool as an apprentice in 1960 and made his first appearance for the first team four years later. It was a particularly auspicious day, and he scored his first goal in Liverpool's first European match against Reykjavik.

Graham, who was only 19 at the time, continued his fantastic start 12 days later, scoring a hat-trick against Aston Villa, helping the team beat his opponent 5-1. The 1969-70 season was undoubtedly his most memorable season. That season, Graham played all 54 games for Liverpool and became the team's top scorer with 21 goals, including a goal in the famous game of defeating Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park Stadium.

He scored three more goals at the beginning of the 1970-71 season, but unfortunately, a broken leg bone in the matchup with Chelsea, ending his career with the Reds. Graham made a comeback in the final months of that season and added six more goals before bidding farewell to Liverpool in March 1972 to join Coventry City.

He played 137 times at Liverpool and scored 42 goals. Graham also loaned to Tranmere Rangers and returned to Scotland to play for Motherwell and Hamilton Academy.
