The Executive Committee of the Czech Football Federation is disappointed with the performance of the players after the game against Gibraltar and apologized to the fans.

Football Association statement: Although the national team advanced to the 2026 World Cup qualifying play-offs, the players' attitude completely overshadowed their performance on the field and this positive result. No player should be above the country they represent, and no player is more important than the fans who invest their time, money and energy to support the Czech national team. Fans have every right to express their dissatisfaction with unsatisfactory performances in recent games.

The players' reaction should be to thank the fans who have actively supported them, not just for yesterday's support, but for their long-term and unremitting support throughout the qualifying cycle, especially after a series of disappointing performances.

The Executive Committee of the Czech Football Association decided that Tomas Soucek will no longer serve as captain in the following games, and the players will not receive bonuses related to yesterday's qualifying match. The funds will be used to help those in need. On behalf of the entire football association, we would like to thank all fans who support Czech football.
