A few days ago, a little kitten was rescued. It was not a stray cat. It was abandoned because of its birth defects. I don’t know whether it was a pet shop or someone else.

Zaizai was born with a weak stomach. He would start to have diarrhea after eating something. He was already skinny and bones in just over two months. He was put in a small plastic bag the day he was picked up.

The daily routine after that was to report to the pet hospital every day. I was worried about what to feed it. I spent a lot of money on it without even making a sound. At first, I barely ate something and pooped as much as I could, but it was all watery. Later, I went to the hospital to get nutritional injections to survive. The cat that was more than two months old did not even weigh a pound.

That afternoon it finally couldn't hold on anymore. Even though it tried so hard to survive, it still lost to this congenitally defective body. I specially asked for leave to go home to see him off for the last time. Zaier wanted me to accompany him, but he was afraid that I would see him so ugly. He hummed with all his strength and shouted for me to hold him, and at the same time tried to move his thin little paws to crawl into the nook that I couldn't see. However, after several attempts, he didn't even move an inch. Later, he just accepted his fate and hugged me with his little paws, looking at me with tears in his eyes.

That day I took it from downstairs to upstairs, walked around the entire community, and carefully told it which door it should take when I go home next time so that it can be seen, when it can enter the door, and what things in the house are used for. It can sleep in the closet in the future, and is not allowed to climb on the curtains. It can snatch snacks from brothers and sisters, and is not allowed to steal the socks and slippers of parents...

At first, it would look at me and hum in a low voice, and open its mouth to bite me, trying to get me to let him go and let him hide on his own, but several times I didn’t let go, I just held it in my arms, and then it gradually became silent. Then even my breathing became weaker and weaker, and I couldn’t feel my heartbeat...

We buried it on the hillside facing the river bank, over there It is so inaccessible that even wild dogs will not disturb it. There are no beautiful flowers there, only tenacious weeds and patches of coniferous forests. After a heavy rain, the forest will be filled with all kinds of strange mushrooms, from matsutake to moss. There are various birds living in the forest, and occasionally there are hawks gliding slowly in the sky. When the sun sets, flocks of birds fly to their respective homes, and they will start looking for food again at sunrise the next day. He will probably like this place, right? There's no way to change the place, right?

I told it that in the next life it will be reincarnated as a little meow. Remember to go home and introduce it to the family, but don’t forget that no matter what it looks like, we still love it.
